About ROCK

ROCK. is an outreach ministry of Zionsville United Methodist Church in Zionsville, Indiana. Our program facilitates out of the east side of the church (door # 11) providing after school care as well as summer camp for children Kindergarten through 6th grade.

ROCK is a place where children learn, grow and belong. We have been an important part of the Zionsville community since the 1980's serving hundreds of families through the years. ROCK is not just a safe, fun place for children to be loved and nurtured while their parents are at work, it is also a place where children can grow and develop healthy relationships with their peers as well as adults. They will engage in activities that will allow them to develop values, build character and mature spiritually, all while having fun. They are offered a variety of activities each day that will keep them interested while becoming well developed in all areas. They are encouraged to live out Christian values and embrace who God created them to be.

Mission Statement

ROCK is a Christian Program serving all families by meeting their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Values

Safe - a place where children feel safe emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Fun - opportunities for children to have fun being children.
Formative - programming that will allow children to be who God created them to be.

Philosophy

The programming of ROCK provides educational opportunities that promote the total development of each child in his or her intellectual, physical, emotional, social and spiritual growth. We believe that students should develop a strong and broad base of knowledge, a genuine love for and appreciation of the challenges of learning, and an understanding of the implications of Christian principles in their daily lives.

Staff

Our staff functions as one team comprised of adults as well as college and high school students who share one goal - loving children. They are committed to building the kingdom of God, one child at a time. Each staff member participates in an extensive interview process and nation wide background check before being hired. Our staff members are trained in CPR and first aid as well as participate in yearly child protection training. Our devoted staff have a combined total of 80 plus years serving in the ROCK program. Our staff/participant ratio is 1:12 or better.
